A bit of information for Shoals Area residents: this just in — Global Special Effects will be providing all of the special effects for a movie being shot locally in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, at the end of May. There is no official word on the name of this movie yet, but we do know that we will be providing fog…and fire!

Yes, we do still have a few tricks up our sleeves. You have to understand that we are a full-service special effects company. There may be certain things that we don’t offer on our website (such as fire) that you are interested in for your specific event or production, but let us guarantee this: we can and will do it. We come up with custom solutions for clients all the time, and for great prices — it’s just what we do.

We should have more information on the upcoming movie shoot very shortly. There is a rumor around our headquarters that it could possibly be The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, [supposedly?] starring Hilary Duff (we heard some problems apparently arose with that situation sometime last year). Who knows? Seriously. If anyone has any information on this, we’d kind of appreciate it. We enjoy knowing things about the movies we’re working on!
All we know is that our Director of Marketing & Design was cast (out of more than 1,000 applicants, if we recall) as the role of Clyde’s brother in the photo shoot for the official movie posters! He was also supposedly guaranteed a small part in the movie. The Story of Bonnie and Clyde is being directed by Tonya S. Holly of Cypress Moon Studios in Sheffield, Alabama.
Update: Just checked the official Cypress Moon Productions website, and Hilary Duff has most definitely been replaced with Lindsay Pulsipher from True Blood (remember Crystal Norris, Jason Stackhouse‘s shape-shifting panther girlfriend? — “You gon’ be our new Ghost Daddy…” — now do you remember?) The official cast is apparently quite star-studded. A few more surprising names that stuck out were Ghost World and American Beauty‘s Thora Birch, Six Million Dollar Man Lee Majors, Shawn Ashmore from the X-Men movies, everybody’s favorite Cloris Leachman, and Tarantino’s Mr. Blonde himself — Michael Madsen. We could actually go on and on, but this post is getting rather long. Check out their website for more information.
…but like we embarrassingly stated earlier, we’re still not even sure if this is indeed the movie we will be working on this month. We’re just happy to put the information out there to give some respect to a local director and drum up some publicity for her much-anticipated film…and also, so we could say that piece about our Marketing Director being cast for the movie poster. Okay, more information…we’re working on it!
